Defiance, Ohio

DEFIANCE, OHIO play fun, politically conscious, stripped-down punk with acoustic guitars,
violin, cello, banjo, upright bass... well, you get the picture! They have cruised very
DIY throughout their existence, self-releasing their first CD, and touring the USA many
times (and Europe as well). They have also worked with a lot of friends’ labels with split
releases, including a split CD with GHOST MICE on Plan-It-X and a split 7” with ONE
REASON on Anti-Creative. Another quirk with DEFIANCE, OHIO is that they post all
of their music on their website for free downloads. Initially, that may spook the “music
industry”, but regardless of this fact (or perhaps BECAUSE of it), their previous album
“Share What Ya Got” has sold through about 7,000 copies. Pretty crazy, huh? This is a
pretty mind-blowing experiment! This will be the first time that many of you have really sat
down and listened to anything by DEFIANCE, OHIO, and for others they are a long-time
favorite.
